[NEWS] LiceBase Officially in Production

After an extended testing phase we have released the production version of LiceBase at the designated URL https://licebase.org as scheduled today. In this process we have also taken down the provisonal test-server for good. This means that the official version of LiceBase is also currently the only one. LiceBase is meant to evolve over time, so the functionality is likely to be extended in the future.

Currently the database contains the following data:

  • The reference assembly of the atlantic salmon louse (LSalAtl2s)
  • The Ensembl annotations of genes, transcripts, and proteins from the Maker pipeline with stable IDs
  • Predictions of iron responsive elements (from SIRES)
  • Searchable BlastP results of all predicted proteins against NR
  • Annotation of (~60 atm) RNA-intereference experiments with protocols and images
  • Few annotations of in-situ images
  • RNA-seq data from 14 developmental stages + 7 different tissue samples
  • FPKM values for RNA-seq data per transcript
  • Mappings of microarray oligos against the reference assembly

The data sets present are only a starting point and we will add more browser tracks soon. Please feel free to contact us with any proposal or suggestions you might have about functionality or data sets that should be included. In addition, please send us information about genes that are probably missing from the annotation. Preferentially, you may use the Blog function of this site for your suggestions or notes. We will soon come up with a road-map of additional functions we would like to see and implement into LiceBase.

Cheers
